Life without a Boppy? No Way!

When I was in the hospital after giving birth to our son, I was completely new to the world of nursing. I mean I had no idea what I was doing. The nurses would come in and cram pillows around me so the baby would be supported. His tiny body was balanced on a mountain of pillows, and I kept thinking, "How the heck can I recreate this at home without a bevvy of hospital staff?" My sister came in, took one look at me, and said, "You need a Boppy." True to fashion, next day she showed up at the hospital with a Boppy pillow.

I don't know what I'd do without it, and if you're a first-time mom or you're about to be, believe me when I say it's a must-have. After a couple months with mine, I got one for my friend who was expecting her first as well.

If you're not nursing, it's still very helpful. My mother loves to hold her grandson on her lap with the Boppy under him. It saves a lot of arm strain, and the baby is nice and cozy too.

My sister got mine from Target, but I've seen them at Babies 'R Us and many places online. They're about 20 bucks for the basic model, or if you like, you can get a plain one with slip covers. That one is quite a bit more. I have no problem with my basic model. I throw it in the washer and dryer whenever my son decides to "decorate" it, and it comes out like new.

This is a good one to keep in mind for a shower gift. They're indispensable!

I liked my boppy too. But, I didn't really use it for nursing - I just found it easier to hold her. I did lay her on it a few times when I needed a break.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Boppies are going to come in handy when I have my little one, that reminds me, time to order a new cover. Nice Blog!
