CSPC: "Don't Place Infants on Air Mattresses"
I recently received an email from the CSPC urging parents not to place infants to sleep on air mattresses. With the holiday season comes lots of overnight trips, and "when traveling, parents may choose alternative sleeping environments for babies." The CSPC warns even a fully-inflated air mattress is not a good place for an infant to sleep, because the baby can suffocate. Nice. We slept with our 1yo on an air mattress. We couldn't stand it though, so I ended up on the hideabed with the babe and 3 of my other children, lol.
